Application for Master’s Degree in Public Policy

Dear Dean Mark Rozell

It is with great pleasure that I submit my application for a Master’s Degree in Public Policy at George Mason University. I am particularly interested in National Security Studies at the School of Public Policy because of the extensive reputation. Also, my goal is to play a strong role in the anti-terrorism in Yemen. While researching, I found that GMU is the best platform to help me launch my journey. At present, I am completing my graduate pathway at INTO George Mason University, and I look forward to continuing my education at the SPGIA. During my undergraduate years, I worked in a leadership role within the Hadhramout Student Union. I established several public organizations for public and democracy awareness. Right after the Arab Spring, I worked with the National Dialogue Conference (NDC) as a volunteer with the current Ambassador of Yemen to the U.S., Dr. Binmubarak, while he served as the General Secretary of the (NDC). I believe that these experiences have prepared me for graduate school and make me a good fit for your program. In addition, during my pathway at GMU I enrolled in professional courses such as EAP506 /507 and this summer I signed for two non-degree courses at GWU AFF 6502. Professional Skills and IAFF6186 Political Risk Analysis.

Thank you for your time and consideration. Should you require any additional documents and or details regarding my application, and/or candidacy, please don’t hesitate to contact me accordingly.

Respectfully yours,

Ali Balobaid
